"Caminos de Hierro":Information about the Award

26th Photographic Contest

The 26th photo contest "Caminos de Hierro" was convened in May and deadline submission closed on November 2011. In this edition 1,321 entrants participated coming from 25 countries with 2,634 works (2,345 individual photographs and 288 series). This has been an 16% increase over the last year in the number of photographers who have submitted to the contest.

The previous Selection Committee has chosen in December the finalists photographs as part of the travelling exhibition and catalogue: 69 works of 60 authors (57 individual photographs and 12 series).

In late February, the Jury decision, as well as, the awards ceremony and opening of the first exhibition will take place. In March will begin the tour of Caminos de Hierro Exhibition on railway stations which will last until January 2013. This itinerancy is carried out in collaboration with Adif (Administrator of Railway Infrastructures), through its “Open Station Programme”.
